Kristen Waggener is the Marketing Communication Manager for the City of Arlington, Texas. She is responsible for leading the strategy and implementation of the city’s communications and marketing efforts for all departments, graphic design, the city’s PEG television station, media relations, the city’s website, and social media. Before coming to Texas, Kristen spent seven years as a Communications Specialist for the City of Lenexa, Kansas, where she specialized in website management and social media. She also had a short career as a multimedia reporter at several local newspapers in Kansas. 

Kristen is also involved with the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers and the  Government Social Media (GSM) Leadership Council. In addition to winning numerous awards through 3CMA, GSMCON and the TAMIO, she was honored with the Social Media Professional of the Year Award from GSM in 2020. You can find Kristen outside of City Hall volunteering at a local animal shelter or spoiling her two cats, Maggie and Mena.
