3CMA Austin, TX Regional Conference
3CMA Austin Regional Conference

3CMA Austin, TX Regional

When it comes to emergency communications, it’s not a matter of IF it’s going to happen to your agency – it’s a matter of WHEN. Since most of us don’t have to handle actual disasters regularly, education, training and practice are critical for government communicators.

That’s why 3CMA is hosting a regional conference on April 24 in Austin focused solely on communicating in an emergency. You’ll spend the morning being trained by experts on media relations during a disaster, and then we’ll conduct a training exercise in the afternoon that will conclude with mock news conferences.

And what better location for such training than CTECC – the emergency operations center for Austin and Travis County.

During lunch, you’ll also be briefed on the recently completed Capital Area Joint Information System Plan, learn about Incident Command System (ICS) training requirements and network with your peers.
