3CMA - Senior Communications Specialist - Job Posting

Introduction

The position works closely with the Director of Communications to create and manage all external and internal communications for every government program, service and event. The successful candidate must possess a high degree of creativity and the ability to communicate complex issues to a wide audience. The position is part of a two-person team in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Creates, writes, edits, and posts public information campaigns and event marketing campaigns using a number of communication tools including website, social media, news releases, website calendars, e-newsletters, video production, blogs and print advertising.
  • Manages the City’s website and intranet content, design and function.
  • Manages Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Tracks analytics.
  • Assists Communications Director with emergency communications including weather and police events.
  • Serves as acting Communications Director in the Director’s absence.
  • Assists office suite with answering public inquiries and requests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
