Job Posting - Chief Broadcast Facilities Coordinator

Responsible for technical engineering work traditionally performed by a Broadcast Engineer which includes the installation, operation and maintenance of the Public Education and Government Cable television station’s equipment. Supervises and assigns work to Broadcast Facility Coordinators, Senior Broadcast Facility Coordinators and Contractors. Ensures that the station is in compliance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations. Provides support at Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during all emergency activations.

Qualifications

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification supplemented by course work in Television, Electronics or Broadcasting; five (5) years of experience in a broadcast engineering environment using computer and digital technology including two (2) years of supervisory experience in a broadcast station environment.

Necessary Special Requirement: Possession of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) General Class License or Society of Broadcast Engineering Certification (copy of license and/or certification must be received in PBC HR by 5:00 P.M. on the closing date).

PREFERENCE FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF EXPERIENCE: Installing and repairing digital Standard Definition or High Definition (SD or HD) broadcast electronic equipment; conducting emergency operations testing; performing equipment justification and specification writing (must specify on application). Also desirable: Associate’s Degree.
